The Trachycarpus Fortunei (also known as Chamaerops Excelsior), or commonly known as the Chusan or Windmill Palm makes a truly spectacular Mediterranean look to the garden, these plants are totally hardy they thrive in the UK climate.  Once established these palms can grow up to 30cm a year

Plants prefer full sun, but will tolerate poor soil and partial shade, even though they are palm trees and can survive with very little water, they grow best when well watered and are hungry feeders - so feed often. The plants produce cream to green heavily scented flowers which appear in spring.
