This plant has many uses. When small it is often used as an accent plant to give height to baskets and containers. Or it can be allowed to grow tall for hedging. These particular Goldcrest have been left mainly unclipped to form a natural shape pyramid shape and will make a beautiful feature plant in any garden. They can be grown in pots or in borders. They will tolerate most soils, cope with full sun or part shade and are good in coastal regions. Feed during the growing season with a proprietry slow release or liquid fertilizer. The most important thing- especially when growing in pots- is that they are kept consistently moist. Do not allow them to dry out. To maintain your desired shape of this Goldcrest conifer, trim new growth with sharp shears. Once a month is usually sufficient.
