You are buying Ellagance Purple (Dwarf) English Lavender plug plants.

These are large plug plants approximately 30mm x 40mm. These plants have been in winter dormancy, but will grow away very quickly once planted in new soil.

Like 'Ellagance Sky', this is a medal winning dwarf variety with dense and compact grey/green aromatic foliage. The lightly scented flowers appear in profusion over a long flowering period. They are deep purple blue in colour, making it a beautiful lavender for planting in drifts. Its smaller size of up to 45cms in height means it is also perfect for containers or edging paths.

Lavenders must have well drained soil as they are very drought tolerant and do not like to be kept too wet. They prefer full sun, although they will grow well in part or full shade. They prefer soil that is not over rich. Rich soil can diminish the aromatic scent. Their flowers are often dried and used for pot puree or dried flower arrangements amongst many other uses. They are great for attracting butterflies and bees and for use in the scented garden. Lavenders benefit greatly if cut back in early spring or after flowering, this helps to prevent dead wood from forming, making a neat and tidy bush.
