Lavender Hidcote is a very popular lavender, it is compact bushy fully hardy, evergreen shrub, with grey green highly aromatic foliage.
Deep Purple flower spikes are produced early summer, right through to late Autumn, these flowers are often dried and used for pot puree, dried flower arrangements among many other uses.
Lavender Hidcote makes an ideal hedge, slightly taller than Munstead Lavender, with a height of 60cm and spread of 75cm, the plants should always be cut back in early spring or after flowering, this helps to prevent dead wood from forming, making a neat and tidy bush.
Lavenders must have well drained soil as they are very drought tolerant and do not like to be kept too wet, and prefer full sun, or though they will grow well in part or full shade.
