This beautiful citrus plant will make an ideal gift!

You are buying one 1/2 standard Sweet orange plant in a 20cm pot, plant height 80-100cm above the pot. These plants are currently without fruit.

Brought to Europe from China in the 15th century, the Sweet orange is possibly the most cultivated citrus in the world. It has compact glossy foliage and bears white fragrant flowers singly or in clusters. The fruits are bright orange and spherical with a bitter / sweet juicy flesh.

These plants are tolerant to the cold, but it is wise to overwinter indoors or protect plants during periods of extreme cold. They grow best in a free draining soil and prefer full sun, with regular feeding necessary to produce a healthy tree. The Sweet Orange will produce fruit more freely with higher temperatures and excellent results can be achieved when grown in a greenhouse or conservatory.
