Got problems with Cats and Dogs in the Garden?
Get Coleus Canina.
You'll love it,
they'll hate it!...
Plectranthus caninus is a herb in the mint family. It is more commonly known here as Coleus Canina or Scaredy Cat. This variegated form goes under the name of ' Dog's Gone' as its smell is reputed to be repulsive to cats and Dogs and can help to deter them. In addition to this useful property it can also make an attractive foliage plant in the garden border. Bearing clusters of small blue flowers in the summer, it will grow in some partial shade but really prefers full sun.
It is also fairly drought tolerant, making it good for a sunny summer border.
This plant is a perennial but we would class it as not frost hardy, so would suggest winter protection or taking cuttings.
These Plug plants are supplied as very well rooted healthy plug plants and are ready for potting straight into at least an 11cm pot. They are best grown on in a frost free greenhouse or indoors on a windowsill and planted out into the garden once fully established.
